Braeden Marshal Band
The Braden Marshal Band will be playing at the First Annual Nanaimo Toy Run at Beban Park on July 2, 2011. Two generations of talent make up the tight, hard-rocking trio that is Braeden Marshal. This father-and-sons team of rockers have wasted no time in becoming a rising sensation on the West Coast.
Award winning vocalist, songwriter and musician Joel Wiggers’ slick guitar riffs and energetic vocals slide perfectly into the grooves of his musically-gifted sons, drummer Brayden, 16 and bassist Marshall, 18, who lay down the solid foundation for their band, creating a sound that is reminiscent of Soul Asylum.
The energy that radiates from the brothers – Marshall’s smooth, melodic, “in-the-pocket” bass-lines and hard-hitting natural percussionist Brayden’s fluid dynamics – show skill that goes beyond their years, the consequence of being born and raised in a rich musical environment.
Hard work and a fiery passion for rock is evident in every one of their tracks. The resulting authentic, down-to-earth sound has consistently wowed their audiences at concerts and has left music industry professionals (including Steven McClintock from 37Records/Headway Productions in Los Angeles, Harlan Smith, the President of Royalty Records Canada, Angela Kelman from Farmers Daughter and Bob D’Eith, the Executive Director of Music BC) raving about their performance at the Vancouver Island Music Business Conference.
With numerous gigs under their belt since they started in 2009, success on the radio with their debut single “A Million Stars”, a growing list of more than 25 original songs and an album set to be released this summer, Braeden Marshal is definately a contender in the ring.
As Jaimie Hilts from 106.9 The Wolf puts it, “ With production values and songwriting skills as good as any major label release, you’d never guess that two-thirds of local band Braeden Marshal aren’t even out of high-school yet. I’ll be watching for these guys on the chart.”
